For Ryan, Tom, Jessica, Katherine and Alex, five American kids on a humanitarian trip to Mexico, it was a dream trip; two weeks of building houses and helping the poor… and at the same time earning an elective credit for their sociology and anthropology class.

Suddenly, their safe and secure world is sent into a tailspin when they are run off the highway by a car careening out of control and crashing. Instinctively, Tom and Ryan run to help. They find a survivor, and before the man dies, he tells them about the five milion dollars hidden in the trunk of the car.

Taking money that is not yours is wrong. Taking cash that belongs to Ramon Lopez, head of the biggest drug Cartel in Mexico is suicide.
Hunted by the Cartel, the kids take a short cut through the desert heading for the US border when their car breaks down miles from nowhere. Now they face the ultimate test of who will survive and who will die in the burning sands south of the border.
